Thing 2: Wordle
I have played with Wordle some, though I haven't figured out how to use it with my science students. I did find it an interesting tool to analyze presidential candidate Barak Obama's acceptance speech and later compare his inaugural address to it.
I think this is an excellent way for student's to analyze their own writing as well. They could see which words they use over and over. Or perhaps they could analyze a poem this way and determine why a specific poem makes them feel as they do.
Finally, I have gotten around to working on Library2Play2. I made the commet in June that I would have all the things done by the 4th....OOOPS Famous last words! Anyway, here is my glog.
And here is the animoto of the ice storm that ravaged our area last January.
Bookr is really cool and it seems students could use this for a time line, a science lab, or any number of things. Or anyone could use this as an online photo album.
Hello All,
I have been teaching for 18.5 years. I currently teach only Physical Science but have taught 7th grade Life Science, 8th grade Earth Science, Biology, and Health. I even spent one summer teaching Driver's Ed. (what was I thinking?)
I enjoy quilting, painting, and recently scrapbooking. I love taking pictures and then displaying them in creative ways.
My classes tend to have many hands on activities where students get to perform many different activities.
Hope this blog is a useful communinication tool.
