So, the first assignment was to watch a video entitiled "The Networked Student -- The Movie" and comment about the video, the student, and the teacher.
Through my own experience, I know the one doing the work does the learn. As the student did the research he learned the material and connected with others that both agreed and disagreed with him. He also practiced organizational skills and communication skills, both of which 21st century students need for success. I think the teacher in this case was truly a facilitator. She provided the student the tools and she provided him support, then she stepped back and allowed the student to have authentic learning.
